Raspberry Pi 4 Support Coming Soon
The new Raspberry Pi 4 is estimated to be available in Canada July 19th. After I order one, wait for it to ship to me, and port NEMS to it, my estimate for official NEMS Linux support is August 13th, 2019.
These boards have enough RAM and CPU power to run NEMS Linux reliably.
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
These optional accessories are supported.
- Omzlo's PiWatcher
Automatically power-cycle your NEMS server if your Raspberry Pi locks up.
Supported, but not optimal:
These boards will suffer from poor performance due to lack of available RAM and/or CPU power. WiFi is not recommended for NEMS Linux servers.
Some features will be turned off by default to improve performance, but may be enabled via NEMS SST. The Pi 3 is roughly twice as powerful as the Pi 2. For best performance in the Raspberry Pi lineup, choose a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+.
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+
- Raspberry Pi 2
- Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+
- Raspberry Pi 1 Model B
- Raspberry Pi Zero W
- Raspberry Pi Zero (Requires USB Micro to Ethernet adapter or USB WiFi)
These boards do not have enough eMMC storage to run NEMS Linux.
- Compute Module 3

Minimum SD Card Size: 16 GB
Recommended SD Card Size: 32 GB
Buy The Hardware
Raspberry Pi devices are very affordable, and using the NEMS Linux image, you simply buy the device, “burn” the image to the Micro SD card, and boot it up.
Visit the NEMS Certified Hardware page to buy your device, complete with the Micro SD card, a power adapter, a good solid case, and more.
Please buy it through our links, or let me know if you need a customized link to a different model. We get a small percentage of the sale, and it helps to make it possible to offer NEMS as a free download.

Psst! NEMS Linux was a boatload of work. If you appreciate the nights of cuddles my wife lost, please help me treat her to a very nice romantic dinner by throwing something in the tip jar.
